We are a Dedicated Community Serving
the Energy Transition

Current/OS is an independent, non-profit, global partnership open to all  electricity stakeholders and manufacturers promoting Direct Current electrical safety, enhancing energy resilience to ensure reliable access to electricity for all.

The only requirements to become a partner are agreeing to our Intellectual Property Policy and paying the annual fee.

What does
Current/OS
means ?

Current/OS stands for “Current-Operated System” because electricity rules the system. The voltage indicates available power, so all devices in the system can adapt their behavior.

For instance, devices can accelerate or slow down, manage their load, or even feed power back into the grid from their batteries when needed, such as those in electric vehicles.

Solar panels, electric vehicles charging station, LED lights, electronics and various loads across the installation all operate together seamlessly.

Current/OS Governance

Partners are central to the Current/OS organization, where every voice carries equal weight and the spirit of collaboration thrives. All Partners are invited to actively influence the direction and work of Current/OS, by contributing to Committee efforts, participating in activities, or joining the Board.

Governance is maintained through the following bodies and meetings.

Committees

Roadmap & initiatives

Partners are encouraged to join the Committees of their choice to actively shape the roadmap and drive initiatives in their specific areas of interest. Committees operate on a volunteer basis and make decisions by consensus.

Board of Partners

Strategy & Finance

The Board consists of Partners who have taken on the responsibility of serving as Board members. It  provides strategic vision, approves budgets, and updates bylaws to enhance efficiency.

Currently, seven people from different nationalities serve on the Board. It is set to expand to 10–11 members, with an open invitation for new partners from diverse geographical and industrial backgrounds.

Partners Forum

Experience & Showcase

The Partners Forum is an informal meeting where Partners can present their company or case study, discuss challenges, and share insights.

All Partners are welcome to join. It’s a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with DC professionals from around the world.

Plenary Sessions
& Assemblies

Reviews & Workshops

The Plenary Session is an in-person conference featuring keynotes, roundtables, workshops, and brainstorming sessions.
Each Plenary is hosted by a different partner in a new country. Once a year, it includes a General Assembly to report on Current/OS developments.

Designed to foster collaboration, the Plenary Session provide Partners with a valuable opportunity to interact, engage in deep discussions, and strengthen connections.

Executive Committee

Operations & Alignment

The Executive Committee is composed of Partners entrusted with the operational leadership of Current/OS. It ensures alignment between the strategic direction defined by the Board and the initiatives driven by the Committees.

It prepares and manages the budget and coordinates activities and progresses.

Current/OS People and Roles

Current/OS brings together a broad ecosystem. Beyond the strategic guidance of our Board of Partners,
these contributors play an operational role in advancing the technical framework, education, certification,
